Contracts are jobs you pick up from the job board. Progress through story islands to unlock it, then choose a quick job on a small island or take on a larger island for bigger rewards. Every contract generates a completely new island through the built-in randomizer, and once you return it clean you collect your payout and take the next job.

Start with the Grabber to pick up bottles and cans, then use the Power Washer on oil spills and vines. Keep the Shovel for mud piles, the Cutters for string around animals, and a bar of soap for washing rescued wildlife. Recycling your collected garbage into the correct containers earns you a Perfect bonus.

Look for distressed animals wrapped in string or covered in grime. Use the Cutters to free them, then wash them top, bottom, and sides with the bar of soap. Once an animal is clean you can pet it and earn satisfying visual rewards that mark real progress on the island.

Absolutely. Your boat travels with you for the whole journey, and you can swap different components to change how it looks, mix and match parts freely, and unlock unique cosmetic options as you play. The boat also hosts the recycling mini-game for sorting collected garbage.

Yes. Island Restoration ships with Steam Achievements on day one on September 23, 2026. The full list will be confirmed after launch, but expect goals tied to your first cleanup, animal rescues, full biome restorations, and completionist progress.
